Every four years we climb out of our caves and start thinking about the great issues of our age and about which American Individual is most capable of guiding us through the forest these issues represent. It is not like the 4th of July, or Thanksgiving or Christmas, or even the Super Bowl. It’s actually bigger. People show up. They come out of the woodwork, out of the closets. And they have things they need to say.
Yep, it’s time to elect a president.
And all these people who show up? You betcha they’re speaking up. Folks you’ve known all your life as more or less silent, catatonic even, are suddenly spewing entire symphonies of political discourse. And the audience is huge, and it’s reactive. Wagner, Beethoven would be insanely jealous. Man, this is America!
Yeah, it’s cool.
And we’re all gonna win.
